BookCon 2016’s Show Floor

I had never been to a book convention of any kind before this and it was AMAZING!!! Imagine a day packed full events to create book nerd heaven and you have BookCon! Be prepared for a lot of exclamation points in this post because the excitement hasn’t faded. My day began early (read: I woke up when I’d normally be going to bed) so that I could get a good spot in line to get autograph signing wristbands then a good spot in line to get onto the show floor.

It was fantastic to be surrounded by so many fellow book nerds. Plus the amount of authors walking around may have had me starstruck (Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs are an adorable couple in person too). I decided to go in without a set plan and found that being flexible really worked out. There were tons of books and ARCs (or Advanced Reader Copies) available, I decided to try to limit myself, meaning I did not buy any books or did not take any books that didn’t seem interesting to me, but I still managed to come home with:

Replica by Lauren Oliver (ARC, Signed)
And I Darken by Keirsten White (ARC)
Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (ARC)
Hatred Day by T.S. Pettibone (Signed)
Panic by Lauren Oliver
H2O by Virginia Bergin
Alive by Scott Sigler (Signed)
Beware That Girl by Teresa Toten (ARC)
This is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang
The Memory Book by Lara Avery (ARC)
Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow (ARC)
Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven (ARC, Signed)
A Tragic Kind of Wonderful by Eric Lindstrom (ARC)
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (Sampler, Signed)
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles (ARC)
Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi (Sample)

Beyond the stack of books I got tons of free swag including bookmarks, pins, tote bags, and temporary tattoos. BookCon also was the perfect chance to see and meet authors or hear them discuss publishing and writing. I got to meet Veronica Roth, Lauren Oliver, T.S. Pettibone, and Jennifer Niven. Plus Margot Wood from EpicRead’s YouTube channel and their bookstamgrammer.

The overall experience was fantastic and I’m already looking forward to the next one!!
